because he will save his people from their sins."

and so CHRISTmas is only 6 days away! where did all that time go??? it seems as though the last thing i remember was finishing my exam on the 9th... then i blinked and now CHRISTmas is almost upon us! anyhoo, i've been hustling and bustling as with many other people, kinda scrambling to get Christmas gifts...trying to THINK of Christmas gifts, and working in between. :) the past few days... well past week or so... has been spent with friends, hanging out, catching up and talking, and again, working in between. :)
tonight, right after work, i managed to just spend some time to just sit. played some keys, and really just revelled in what it means for God to come down to earth in the form of man. the God who created the universe that's so vast that we haven't even seen its ends yet, came down, in the form of an infant. infants are generally 6-8 pounds or so... really really tiny... here's a thought/visual: the mouth that spoke the world into being, was the mouth of a tiny infant who would giggle and coo; the hands that molded man from dust, were the hands of a tiny infant who could grab hold of His mother's finger; the feet that walked with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, were the the feet of a tiny infant who would kick as He squirmed around in His manger bed... and if you want contrast... here it is:
"Then Moses said, "Now show me your glory."
And the LORD said, "I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. But," he said, "you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live."
Then the LORD said, "There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen."
- exodus 33:18-23
"So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn."
- luke 2:4-7
to take this one step further, let's not forget the reason that Jesus came. He came to save the world. to save us from our sins. continuing on with the picture that was painted. the hands that molded man, the hands of the infant Child, were the same hands that were nailed to the cross. the feet that walked in the Garden, the feet of the infant Child, were the same feet that were nailed to the cross. the head of that baby Boy on the first Christmas morn, wore the crown of thorns.... all that, for you and me.
anyway, what i'm getting at is... this holiday season, amidst all the rushing around and all the different Christmas fesitivities you attend, take the time to just be in silence and really just BE in the presence of God. after all, He gave up so much just to have a relationship with you... think about it, He gave up His very life.
